Social Media Tip of The Day – Social Networking is All About Mobile

Social Networking is All About Mobile

You go about your day, while commuting and running errands. While there is still a social aspect to being outdoors, it’s no secret that more and more people are staring at their phones or tablets everywhere you look. Good mental note and seriously take into consideration when your business is expanding towards social networking. Your internet business presence must keep up with the timesand then some! Consumers are increasingly looking to their smartphones and tablets to access social media. While the personal desktop or laptop computer is still the most widely used device when it comes to social media consumption, studies found that time spent on mobile apps and mobile websites accounted for a 63% increase in total time spent. That’s 43% of users who said they use smartphones to access social media, while 16% connect using a tablet.

So having a tablet or phone friendly website is extremely important. Keep in mind when discussing with a developer if you want to make your site adaptive or responsive and go over what’s gonna work best for you.

Responsive: An approach to web design in which a site is crafted to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices like desktop computer monitors to mobile phones.

Adaptive:  An approach to Web design that utilizes fluid layouts, CSS3 media queries, and custom scripting to effectively display content at any screen resolution. This allows content to resize as the browser window does.
