Since I went to St Charles school from 3rd to 8th grade, we, as students, had to attend the…Read More "Children's" Mass every Sunday at 9 AM. I dreaded that Sunday Mass with a passion and if you didn't attend you had to explain why. to the good nuns...we seem to take a lot of week-end trips away, when in reality since my parents didn't go to church I had to ride my bike when I was in the 7th and 8th grade (does anyone do that anymore-ride a bike to school) from Sunshine Terrace and Carpenter Ave to church...but for some reason I never made it there...I always ended up at King Donuts on the corner of Moorpark and Vineland (where the Pizza Hut is now) having a glazed donut and a Coke...that was my Sunday Mass...if they just make us go to church, I might attend more often...

No, I despise drunk drivers but we need to appoint judges that will enforce existing laws.
How many…Read More times have we heard of a drunk driver killing someone only to find out they had a dozen priors but were out among us? As for the airheads that want to go after corporations that are making legal products... just another typical liberal evasion of personal responsibility. We already provide for the prosecution of those who continue to serve patrons beyond the point of intoxication.

Can't say I'm too surprised-only 60 percent of riders I've seen actually pay.
This on top of People…Read More enjoying lunch, having a beverage (including dayworkers drinking beer in the open mid-day), and now, people smoking weed on the bus, from Hollywood to Van Nuys. On buses where signs reading "No Smoking, Radio, Eating, Drinking, Smoking-$250 fine." Bad enough METRO scratching their head about budget shortages (the same people that didn't put turnstiles in the Subway, opting for the honor system). Now this. And it's getting worse.... It's gotten as out of hand as people walking into restaurants, and openly stealing soda from the fountains. Even watched as someone carefully mixed cough syrup and 7-up in a CBTL cup, at the In-N-Out @ Van Nuys/Ventura blvd (4 other people helped themselves to free product the 10 minutes I was waiting..)Now, this and beggars jumping out @ traffic lights and their Aggro/drunk hippie brethren near Laurel Canyon/Van Nuys, people in this town really need to step up their game.

Hi Adelle, I am sorry your daughter lost her father and you a husband. Thank you for your comment.
Adelle M Blackman May 12, 2013 at 12:18 am
it was a touching article as I lost my husband when my daughter was only 8 years old. But I think…Read More its sad that she does not have a deep faith to give that boy something to have. My daughter has the assurance that her Daddy accepted Jesus and asked forgiveness for his sins and is in heaven. Through the blood of Jesus Christ she and I both will see him for eternity. This no looking down. The Bible is clear on who go to heaven. Sadly without Jesus we are lost for eternity. I wish I could tell him that so he has a chance for eternal life.
