It has a new Culinary Academy and Environmental Sciences area of study as well as Humanities and Technology Academies.</p> <p>The school has the longest-running continuous program for highly gifted students in the Los Angeles Unified School District and includes studies in Latin, logic and creative analysis. It is also one of a handful of middle schools with a Cadet program.</p> <p>The ornate front and large grassy lawn in front of the school makes it a prime filming location, which adds to the school coffers.
