The summer school has a week-long day camp devoted solely to Hollywood.</p> <p>A lighted baseball diamond, lighted basketball courts (indoor and outdoor), a big play area for children and lots of trees for shaded picnics make this a great place for a family outing. The rec center's pre-school is open Tuesday through Friday for 3- to 5-year-olds.</p> <p>It gets a bit crowded, especially during team sports events, and the sparse trees provide some shade in the heat, but it's only a few blocks from the Studio City Library, where there is air-conditioning.</p>
