I was born in Brooklyn, New York where I went to college and got a degree in Television and Radio when that was still a division of the Speech and Theatre Department. There I learned how to shoot three-camera live shows from the guys who invented television. That came in handy when I went to work in TV news (though I'd hoped to be a studio cameraman for the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson). 

As the Faith and Charity columnist for Patch.com I've been impressed by the dedication of the San Ferndando Valley faithful (and rational) to elevating their own consciousnesses and doing good works in the community, from feeding the hungry and housing the homeless to celebrating the seasons and honoring ancient traditions.
