Walking Bridge Over Lankershim DIscussed Wednesday

The Land Use Committee hears detail of the bridge.

The Land Use committee of the Studio City Neighborhood Council is hearing details of a proposal for a predestrian bridge at Universal Studios on Wednesday night.

The proposal is to construct a pedestrian bridge over Lankershim that will connect the Redline Station to the proposed development at Universal. 

This footbridge will be instead of the tunnel under Lankershim that was originally envisaged when the Redline station was constructed. There will be a presentation regarding the pedestrian bridge on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Building 8, MPR 3.

Hot on the tail of a plan to start constructing a $22 million tunnel under Lankershim Boulevard to connect the North Hollywood Red Line Metro Station and the Orange Line station across the street in the NoHo Arts District, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is now planning to build a pedestrian bridge over Lankershim one stop south, at theUniversal City Metro Station, according to Curbed LA.
