James Gandolfini Sought a Tattoo in Studio City Earlier this Month

Just before he went on his trip to Italy, Sopranos star James Gandolfini stopped in to a Studio City tattoo parlor to check out getting some ink.

Howard Teman of T-Man Tattoos, at 12216 Ventura Blvd., said he was surprised to see the Tony Soprano actor come in to the shop for a tattoo. He said he was in the area and was thinking about getting something done.

They did pose for a picture that is on the tattoo parlor's website: http://www.howardteman.com

TMZ first reported the "JAMES GANDOLFINI TATTOO SHOPPING BEFORE DEATH" story and the Studio City sighting.

At 51, Gandolfini died of apparent heart attack in Italy where he was attending a film festival.
