Helicopter Crash in Griffith Park, 3 on Board and 1 Ranger on Ground Injured

The Los Angeles Fire Department reports that a four-seat private helicopter crashed near the golf course and tennis courts in Griffith Park, according to spokesman Erik Scott.

The accident happened about 2:17 p.m. and three people have minor injuries in the helicopter. One park ranger on the ground was also reportedly brought to the hospital due to heat exhaustion.

The helicopter went down at 2800 East Observatory Road, and it is in the area known as the McComb Helispot where a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter went down and a firefighter named McComb in 1998 was killed along with three others, according to Scott.
