Hit-and-Run Victim Identified as Studio City Musician Michael Bonanomi

Police asked for the public's help today in the search for a white Mercedes whose driver was believed responsible for the hit- and-run death of a Studio City man.

The car should have major front-end damage and possibly a broken windshield, said Sgt. Bill Kelly of Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division. The car may have had black paper plates with Encino written in yellow on them, investigators said.

The accident occurred on Ventura Boulevard at Fairway Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Kelly said.

The victim was identified today as Michael Spencer Bonanomi, 35, of Studio City, said coroner's Lt. Joe Bale.

The victim "appeared to have been intoxicated," as he sat on the curb on Ventura Boulevard and tried to eat a sandwich, then got up and tried to cross Ventura outside a crosswalk, Kelly said, citing witness accounts.
