Police Seek Suspect who Left Dog for Dead in Alley—Did You See Anything?

Los Angeles police today asked the public's help in locating a suspect who was seen taking a dog attached to the bed of his pickup truck and leaving him for dead in an alley in North Hollywood.

The witness saw a male on July 4 in the alley between Kittridge and Hamlin streets, a block east of Laurel Canyon Road.

The witness confronted the suspect, who fled.

It was not clear if the dog was rescued or had been injured before being for dead.

The truck was described as a possible late 1980s white Toyota pickup truck with dark stripes on its side and a toolbox in the bed of the truck. The vehicle also had large off-road tires, a sunroof, and a small extra cab windows.

Anyone with information on the crime was asked to call the LAPD Animal Cruelty Task Force at (213) 486-0450.
